This morning I have been to take the recycling with Philip and Catherine, argued about language and gender with Catherine, listened to Throbbing Gristle and Albert Ayler thanks to Soulseek (it's been a long time! :D) and read a long article by a socialist claiming that New Labour is despite it all still the most viable political tool for radical political change :) (
Here from the Fabian society if you're at all interested! It's worth it! Well, maybe not so much if you're not British. Or um. Not interested in ending the horror of grotesque social inequality....:P hee hee. Also, I guess a lot of the same issues apply to the US Democrats! and well yes.)
Then I learnt all about homelessness rules and who has a right of support from the council and all that good stuff. Hee and um ooh! There is
this job here..no that didn't work...well it's a Housing Advisor one anyway if you're bothered enough to look through! ;) that I am reaaaaaally tempted to apply for! alas I probably don't have the guts. ;) Since it would involve getting a day off for an interview, asking for references, etc etc, but on the other hand it is very much what I would like to be doing and I think I more or less meet the essential criteria! As well as very enthusiastically believing in the importance of the post. Well, I shall probably just not get round to it. ;) And that will be ok. Hehe. I would like to have worked at my present job for a little bit longer before leaving too and I would be sorry to desert them! Not that I'm some kind of star assessing performer that they couldn't afford to do without, ha ha. But still!
Then in a bit I'm off to see DJ Scotch Egg, Lightning Bolt and Bilge Pump and maybe drink more cider and wish I were in a band myself :) good good!
secondly.
001. Has anyone ever thrown a surprise birthday party for you? Hehe no. I don't think that sort of thing is really any of my friends' style. Or they just don't like me that much ;)
002. What was your favourite birthday? Hmmm! Well I don't know. Birthdays are generally much of a muchness in my memory. This year's was reasonably acceptable :)

006. Who is your fashion icon -- aka, whose style do you (or would like to) imitate?
*blank* um well... I've a fine picture of Camus on the front of 'The Rebel' where he looks just ace! And I feel that has always provided something of an inspiration to me. mm :)
007. How do you feel about "public displays of affection"? they are fine as such, but on the other hand behaviour designed to reinforce the separateness of couples from a group gets my goat!
008. Would you like to have a personal assistant? oh yes!
009. What is the best thing you have ever spent money on? I would say my guitar, but in fact my fabulous brother gave that to me! heehee. "the best thing". food!

012. Who is your favourite artist? visual artist - I do not know!
013. Who inspires you? hehe, I realised the other day that I am in fact 'inspired' by just about anything that catches my attention at the time! ;) Not in a necessarily good way. Say I read an article about some quirky New England noiseniks and I think 'why if only I played my guitar along with other people everything would be just fine!' or I talk to someone who's just joined the Green party and decide that that's the thing that could truly give my life some meaning and then I discuss things with a nice fella from church and suddently it all seems to clear that theological reflection and engagement are the key for me. However that pitch of enthusiasm tends to only last an afternoon or so. ;)
Then I'm back to the vagueness of indecision and mild interest. As now except with some emphasis on housing law! I guess I like to see all those areas as somewhat related, if a little tenaciously, through um...a kind of aesthetic/moral complex of "meaning" where a fundamental unity in Don Caballero's cross-rhythms and John's account of Jesus is made apparent. If possible. ;)
014. If you ever got married, what song would you want played? I always claimed it would be 'Thru the Eyes of Ruby' by the wonderful (certainly in that instance!) Pumpkins but I would have to confess that that may not really be true. ;) Still, maybe that could be a good test if I ever wanted a prospective spouse. ha ha. 039. If you could be any character from any movie, who would you be? oh my! Let's have a think. *some moments later* I can't, actually, think of anyone as especially appealing as all that.... oh oh oh I know! Steve Buscemi's bit-part 'beatnik' in The Hudsucker Proxy. heeee!
040. What's your favourite city? Well, London certainly has a special place in my heart, given that just about every time I've been there it's been really fabulous, because I've been going on purpose to do something good :) Other than that I love Leeds I do! And don't know many cities. Hehe.

045. What is going to be the next major thing you purchase? ohh! I don't know. I don't tend to make major purchases!
046. What makes you really, really happy? lazing about all morning (and early afternoon) reading self-important political theory and listening to music in non 4/4 time; being with people whom I like; doing something well at work; talking to regular people about politics; all of which collectively constitute those rare moments when I'm not confused and angst-ridden. heeeeee!
047. Who's your favourite Bundy: Al or Ted? bundy?
048. What's your favourite cocktail? coconutty ones! I should try more cocktails.
049. Do you have any tattoos? Do you want any? no, no.
050. What sorts of things do you find it difficult to get your head around? aaaahhh directions and where things are in a city!!! I think it's because I was sytematically denied the opportunity to learn anything beyond the way to the bus stop and the post office as a child. hehe (they were both down the one main road in my village).
051. What is something other people tend to find challenging but you find to be a doddle? hm. I don't know :) I don't know if I'm really good enough at anything to find it 'a doddle,' hehe, when most people would think it's hard. Maybe just through practice something obscure like reading moderately obtuse moral philosophy. ;)
