Would you prefer my Democratic option? I wouldn't...locally speaking I am resigned to voting Republican.

touche. i suppose my economic concerns about madison are more appropriately directed to the local congresspeople, governor, etc., since they are making the tax decisions, but the drug problem is definitely more subject to local control. i mean, i read about people being arrested for meth, crack, pills, etc. practically every day in the courier... and they are turning right around and selling them to the high school kids while the police say, "oh, that's not our jurisdiction." i just hate to see madison turning into jersey city.

oh, i wasn't pissed off...just saying.

so the solution to the Madison drug problem would be to elect the member of the police force that was supposed to spend his time educating kids on drug abuse resistance? Somehow I don't see the logic in that...especially when the man eventually gave that up, because, "he didn't have time anymore."

oh, i agree... but the chief of the police force is in the other candidate's pocket, so i really don't think either of them is a good choice. the whole structure of power in madison is just a big incestuous mess. i think the best solution would be to clean house and elect someone whose only vested interest is in getting everyone else to do their jobs.

i just look at what has happened to madison over the past ten or twelve years, and whatever is being done or ignored, it's not working. at least there are actually two candidates this year, though... that's a start!
