Who wants to run a marathon anyway?

i skipped out on my 16 mile long run today. pretty awesome, and to be frank i'm not feeling too bad about it anyway. my cousin (who i'm training with) hasn't run with me for over a month because he's injured so i've lost all motivation to run on my own ( Read more... )

you loooooove running because it releases endorphines and expends some of the stress energy that you accumulate during your normal stressful activities (like watching 24). most importantly, running gives you a sense of accomplishment, especially when it is really hard, but you push through anyway.

i am very proud of you for signing up for this marathone. i enourage you to train as hard as you can, but not to feel bad or guilty if you do not train as much as you liked. If you have to walk in the marathon, take in the scenery and the crashing waves! i hope you walk, in fact. and i hope that you have a good time in california.

and if you run this week(end) i will run with you (the last 3-4 miles haha) and it will be nas. once mr. sun comes out it will be better!

yay claire!

claire,

i would say you have absolutely nothing to worry about, b/c you won't be one of those failures that actually walks during a marathon. thank God for determined people such as yourself!

p.s. i had a dream last night that it was really early in the morning (still dark out, actually) and i freaked out b/c i thought someone was coming in to rape me, but it was really just you getting back from a long run. pretty freakin awesome.

as for failure auntsarah March 28 2005, 19:42:42 UTC
not a failure. just considering a marathon, and then training for it, and then starting it is an accomplishment in itself. i'd like to see the person who says walking during a 26.2 mile marathon is failure, try it herself. but you're right. anyone who even thinks about walking has not an inch of determination, nor should God be thanked for them.

You can at least run 14 miles which is 10 more than me...and probably about 13 miles more than most people. You are nas.

Thanks roommates (and Mark) for the encouragement. I'll save some sweat from the marathon and give it to you as a thank you gift. there's a keeper.

Then I will sell it on E-bay as something that is so nas that people will want to buy it...similar to Britney Spears' gum or hurricane wind that was put into Tupperware...
