Watched Miss Saigon in Sydney. Very moving musical, although the songs did not leave as deep an impression on me as the other musicals such as Les Miserables, or Phantom.

Yeh, the songs are not as pop as Les Mis or Phantom, but there're a few nice ones.
How's madonna-fever in Sg? She's performing here in London at Koko and G-A-Y club this week!

Oh, a sad story is always something to feel, knowing it's for real.

lea salonga is my favorite. she sings out the strength of this song.

(first know her as eponine)

Same here! I like her voice.
First learnt about her in Les Miserables, I think it was the original London recording on cassette tapes then.

the one i watch is a video (it is the one with michael ball, philip quast [as the one who sang "stars"] [he has very good accent!], and lea salonga)...collected after watching les mis in hk. I overheard before from my friend that "Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schönberg" has much better musical than andrew lloyd webber's. But i didn't watched miss saigon because of the technical problem of having that "helicopter hanged down from the ceiling" with its showing "announced" over years yet still haven't come (and finally came, it showed only for 3 month or sth like that).

hm...the original recording of les mis is in black box which comes in 3 cds....i think it's not the one with lea salonga as eponine...

i also like her singing in 'a whole new world' (aladdin). The lyrics is very apt for describing hk.
