Perceptions can be a result of bigotry, as well as actual knowledge; so there is not absolut (ahem) right or wrong. They do put in some thought on the representation of the cities.

However, how we perceive the ads' representation is also limited by our own views.

Absolutely!
Nothing’s absolute in post-modernity … that’s why we have to travel the world and the seven seas - everybody’s looking for something. ;)

I love the way the fishies formed the shape of the bottle...
and also the one of sydney...the footprints and the waves actually formed the shape of the bottle as well LOL

Dotty!!! Yeh, the creative execution was good for Kyoto and Sydney. Coincidently, both has got the ‘nature’ element in it too. Have a nice day!

don't mind me, but from a malaysian's point of view, that ad just SO strongly conjures the scary stories of sg we have been over-told back in primary schools, of litterbugs being made to pick up garbage in the park. in fact, looking at the ad made me laugh out loud. but, don't mind me.

Lol! No prob. Didn't know such stories were told even in Malaysia. haha ... i guess the scarrier part is that they make you wear those unflattering and unfashionable luminous vests! *fashion police alert*
I thought the Absolut Singapore (and Berlin) had a more powerful message than the rest.

the berlin one can play both ways i thought. it can also be seen as kitsch and capitalising on sentiments on the city and by doing so actually pulls in the entire world history into it. and being put in a museum display kinda situation. i thought it could easily have become a mockery too..

eh and we were told they were only hanging a placard over them saying "i am a litterbug"!!!

OH and the chewing gum ban!!! :P

Yeh... imagine how corny an Absolut Sydney ad will look with tanned surfer hunks on the beach ... and their ab muscles are in the shape of the bottle. lol
Wonder if they've got Absolut Shanghai?
