When you receive greeting cards - holiday or otherwise - what do you do with them? Tell me - do you display, do you save, how long for either or neither? What comes next? Does it go in the trash or do you do something creative with them? I want to know!

I usually put them into a basket under the Christmas tree and consider them "gifts" that were given to me by friends. Then I box them up in a shoebox when I take down the tree, store them with all the Christmas decor, and never really look at them until the following year when I put up the tree. Unfortunately, I had to throw away the boxes full of previous years cards because of the move to Seattle earlier this year. And also this year, there is no room in the apartment to put up a Christmas tree.

They usually dont make it further than whatever desk drawer or surface at home i'm near when i get them.

Im not big into greetings cards, i save the odd ones from students with nice things written in them, from friends, from Leon and Vickie (Happy Birthday/Congrats on the birth of your baby girl) but mostly i dont hang onto them and i only send Christmas cards out to the people who seem to want them

Not all that festive i'll admit, but i dont see the point

Christmas cards I keep for about a month, save any particularly special ones, cut the rest up for Christmas gift tags for the next year and recycle what's left over.

Birthday cards, I keep any particularly special ones and recycle the rest, occasionally keeping bits for gift tags.
