Malory Towers: Mary-Lou/Daphne

Mary-Lou/Daphne
PG
for versipellis

Mary-Lou Wasn’t Sure.

The trouble was, Mary-Lou was rarely sure of anything, so now she wasn’t sure whether she Wasn’t Sure because she never was sure, or whether she Wasn’t Sure because it wasn’t right.

Because if Daphne thought that it was all right - and surely, Daphne did think that, otherwise she wouldn’t do it - then it must be all right. Mustn’t it?

Mary-Lou Wasn’t Sure.

It felt… It felt nice, actually; and that somehow made it feel even more wrong. If it was all right, it wouldn’t matter if it felt nice. But if it was wrong… somehow it would make it worse if it felt good.

But if she said anything to Daphne, Daphne would think… would think she didn’t like it, would think she didn’t want to be her friend. And she did, she did. Daphne was so beautiful, so kind. Daphne couldn’t do anything wrong. Could she?
