I don't know the fandom, but the dialogue and behaviour felt very real, like it fitted how I imagine these characters would talk. And Maidlin's fears feel very real too. Nice work!

Unfortunately Maidie's fears are all too real: Joy marries again later in the series...

But I've been buried in the Abbey series recently, so the characters just came to me.

I don't know the Abbey series as well as the Chalet, so Chalet usually comes easier. But I've read (*counts*) 16 Abbey books in the last couple of weeks (only four to go that I own *sob*) so Joy and Maidie just came. Especially as there was a prompt of "Understanding, it's misunderstood" which immediately said Maidlin to me.

I don't know much about Cecily and Maribel. I only discovered Abbey Girls recently. (I presume you know about the email address, by the way: if not, email me and I'll send details of what I'm talking about.)

Actually, now you mention it, I'm rather Mary Dorothy-ish, though less Rachel. Yes, a Maidlin/Mary cross, I think :)
