I'd never thought about that point; Peter having physical courage. It's definitely a good one though, and makes me see him in a different light.

I kind of feel like Peter adopted the persona of a coward and made it work for him, and now can't get out of it. That... may just be me, though.

Also love your point about Snape and Occlumency.

Definitely agree on Hermione! I do feel like she doesn't really know/feel confident in relating to girls her age.

It's probably why I quite like Hermione: confident about academic things and no self-esteem otherwise. Sounds a bit like me :)

Do tell me more about your ideas on Peter. I do need help getting my head around him.

:D I know what you mean.

Hermione also has a strong bossy streak, though, which I don't have... so much XD

Well, they're not very well-developed ideas, they just occurred to me when reading your post. But it seems to me that Peter must have had some bravery in him to get into Gryffindor, but he was hanging around with James "fun-loving" Potter and Sirius "risk-taker" Black, so was pushed into the not-as-smart-or-brave-as-everyone-else role. Then when Voldy came along that was actually a method of coping... but when it comes to it, he can be pretty brave, he just thinks he's a coward.
