It's not been a good day. I don't know why, specifically, but I'm grouchy and tired and just about ready to go crazy. It's 57F in my house right now, and I'm wearing two layers plus a fleece bathrobe. Maybe that has something to do with it.
But there was one good part to the day....wanna see?
(Sorry about the funky angle of the scan. I wasn't in the mood to re-do it.)
All looks well with the baby. NT measurement was good, bloodwork schemas came back fine, FHR of 159 and legs a-flailing. We'll do another scan in six weeks to check cardiac completion.
(For those of you that don't know, I had a brother born with only two chambers of his heart; he lived only a few hours. As this was in the early 70s, there was no testing done as to why his heart formed this way. Although we are low-tech maternity care folks, John and I have chosen to have u/s done so that we can prepare ourselves in the event there is some genetic issue that leads to our baby having this birth defect.)
Noah was so excited to watch the 'baby movie.' The tech gave him his own pic of the scan, and Noah told the receptionist on the way out "That Noah's baby in Mama's tummy." A touch Oedipal, but cute nonetheless.
Have a great weekend, y'all.
