Actually, as far as I know, the whole idea behind living wage is that you can live off of it. Naturally, this varies by region; obviously, it's a hell of a lot more expensive to live in, say, New York, than it is to live in Richmond. This is also why it's never going to become federal law - it's impossible to standardize.

Or I could be talking out of my ass. It's hard to say.

Yeah, they figure that $7-8 a week fulltime a year would be enough to live off of. You can't live comfortably off of that, but you can eat, clothe yourselves and provide yourself with shelter. Of course it differs from region to region just like wages do.

Your affirmative action opinion was awesome. Honestly, I kinda knew what I wanted to say on that- but I just couldn't say it all eloquently, in fact, I couldn't even write it (or much else) in a way that makes sense.
