WHAT'S BEEN OF MARCH

Huge photo post below

March 1st

This was on Charro Day's or Fiestas Mexicanas. This is an annual celebration held in my city and in Brownsville, Texas, to commemorate the union of the two cities as sisters or something in between those lines. It's a one week festival that offers many entertainment and really good food! On this day, which was the day of the parade, I had to go and take some photos for my photography class but I ended up not taking any photos with my film camera because I forgot my good lens at home. It was super crowded so I decided to go back home but I was lucky enough to see these people on their horses and the street was basically empty! That was because they already had walked through the parade and they were going back to their transportation or something, so everyone else was super busy watching the parade while I got to be super close.

On this day I went with some friends and acquaintances to a local bar to talk about an event we were organizing for Women's International Day. We had an interview and everything turned out pretty well. Nothing else happened.

I travelled to Monterrey for Spring Break to visit my friends. We spent a lot of time just chilling at my friends' house though. Two days after we got there one of our friends took us to a bar where on some days people make stand-up comedy. I must say that I wasn't very entertained, most of the comedians were very unfunny, like, sexist jokes or just really stupid jokes, only a couple of guys were actually funny. We also had a very awkward situation; while we were there we saw someone we used to be friends with and we're not in good terms with her. I decided that if she came close to us I would say hi and she was actually walking toward us but then she turned around, got out of the place, and then came back but she took an opposite direction from us, also at this point I was putting my camera in my bag because she also takes photos and she actually has worked taking photos at that bar so I didn't want to raise any type of friction or something. After that we just forgot about the issue and focused on the stand-up show. We weren't actually laughing at the jokes though but I was very entertained because one of our friends was making silly comments, so we had fun anyways. Afterwards we went to eat the most delicious tacos I've ever eaten (well, they weren't technically tacos, they are called "piratas". It's a flour tortilla with fajita, cheese and avocado, omg).

The next day we went to the museum because the entrance was free and also because since November I've wanted to see one of the exhibits they had. I knew there were pieces of Remedios Varo and Leonora Carrington, so I was very excited! I don't have any photos of the exhibit though because they don't let you take photos in there. I was very, very happy and I just wouldn't shut up about facts and technical painting stuff (although I don't even like painting). While I was telling my friends about some of the paintings some girls that apparently were coming from some highschool were very attentive to what I was saying; they were probably doing homework. This was at the end of the exhibit, so we went outside for a little bit to a sculpture garden and the girls followed us there... it was very weird. Anyways afterwards we went to a pretty (but really expensive restaurant) and then we split.

March 18th

Nothing much happened yesterday. We played in the garden with Midna and Zeus and after that we slept for like 4 hours, haha.
Hopefully I will document more, I really want to.
