I know at times that I really don't want to be an American. But...times like this when the whole country really pulls together makes me proud. I saw a Canadian mountie (in uniform!!!) sing our anthem today in from of their Parliament building up in the capital of Canada, and I just nearly cried. I think I didn't cry because I was in history

I'm glad you've changed your mind about our country. I remember hearing you belittle it, comparing it to largely romanticized views of France and Canada... and I felt to sad for you, because....god, everyone should be able to live in a country they're proud of.

We have our faults, the most glaring was living a false sense of security. But that is shattered now, and our security is our unity, our pride in our ablity to unite.
