I'm not earnest or devout; I barely even muster an Amen. And though I know the prayers I don't participate in them. I just don't see the point ( Read more... )

comfort. that is what a lot of it is, you grew up surrounded in it. in something so definite and absolute that even though it doesn't offer you an answer the idea that something remains constant and the same eases, so you surround yourself in it.

1st - amazing job again today lex. u continue to astound
2nd - nice hair cut! .. sexy lexie!!...
3rd - about ur post.
one reason would be comfort, but another is that im sure somewhere in you there is a connection to the catholic faith. it might not be to all of it or even the most media-sized parts or 'important parts' but there is something you can relate to. a comfort you take in knowing there's something else out there... be it that its bigger than you, or that there's a heaven, or that it seems as if someone cares... its not jsut you vs. world. maybe not, but thats my thought. and even if you dont agree with it all or if its not 'cool enough' for you outloud... its a familiar and agreeable thing for the most part.
dont be concerned with why, but rather embrace that connection.
