We're Debt Free!

Yes, I am shouting this from the rooftops, because it's been 4+ years and about $100,000 in the making.

And today, just after noon, we paid off the final debt in our snowball.

Our next steps are to save up an emergency fund of 6-12 months of expenses, start Roth IRAs for both of us, and get some 529s started for the kids.  Then we'll look at ( Read more... )

Woo hoo, good for you guys! Did you radically budget for four years? It's hard to be debt free these days! Congrats!

There were periods of time where we kept a really tight budget. Other times, less so.

Overall, we had to really change both our spending and, more importantly, how we viewed spending and money.
