Obama's speech

You may have heard about the controversy over Obama's speech to schools. He tells kids to stay in school and work hard but parents are worried that he is "trying to indoctrinate their children with socialist ideas". A digg comment I found sums it up:

"You know who else said to stay in school and listen to parents?

Hitler."

I want to go to those parents and say to each of them, "Please explain what you mean by 'socialist' in such a way that I could look at any policy and without further guidance from you, clearly determine whether that policy was 'socialist' or not in your usage." I'm not optimistic that a lot of them would be able to.
