So, I've kind if been dreading updating about this particular subject that's going on in my life right now, but I figure I should get out some of this tension and frustration out that's been building up by keeping it all inside.

So, as I wrote in here a little while ago, my cousin (who's soon to be 18 and like a little sister to me) got herself ( Read more... )

Aww, I'm sorry the weekend didn't go as planned. I know you're worried about your cousin, but having a baby young doesn't ALWAYS mean you're throwing your life away. I mean, its rare, but some people do manage to do okay in that situation. How far is she from graduating?

I got pregnant at 18 with a major LOSER - an abusive one who refused to work and treated me like poo - and I've still managed to do okay. I'm working slowly through school, I have a good job, I own a condo, etc.
And I left him...when I was ready to.

With the help of her family, and the right mind-set, she might end up doing okay. But FYI, if she's made up her mind about this, then your being unsupportive just means that she'll distance herself from you. It's a delicate situation.

thanks for your concern:) Let me tell you I sure hope youre right...i mean, i realize there must be people out there in similar situations who make it out ok - like you. I just sure hope she's one of those people. I feel like even though the familys pissed now, eventually shell get the support she needs - and i know the baby will be taken care of no matter what.

Do you mind if i ask what finally did it for you? Like, what was the last straw that made you leave that loser? Cuz part of me hopes, of course, that my cousins bf mans up, but the other part feels like that probably wont happen...i guess we'll see.
And despite being with your ex who was obviously making your life crap - how is it that you made it despite that?
Sorry if the Qs are too personal - im just trying to see it from her perspective and stuff ya know?
