On a Bed of Rice - a collection of erotica short stories written by Asian-American writers. Not all are good stories (some are just plain weird), but most are well-written. I think you'll enjoy it.
Although it didn't make me completely understand what it's like to live as a minority practically your whole life, it did make me understand my cousins better. It's a pretty old book, but since it's about the author's adventures in Japan, it might interest you to see familiar places as well.
I swear I bought this book but it never arrived. I was looking forward to reading it too. humph. Maybe I'll catch up on some Jane Austen. Then we can gabber all about them. The title you first recommend is...?
I just finished "The Fortune Cookie Chronicles" about Chinese food in America. It's fun and kinda sad. I could mail it to you if you're interested.
I really love "Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China". It's a true account of 3 generations of women in a family and how they dealt with the political upheaval in China. Really incredible!
I've also heard really good things about the "3 in lotus" that Linda mentioned.
I've read wild swans and I really loved it! Along the same lines, I recommend Fallen Leaves. (I'm real bad at replies huh?) but I inted to read all of these recommendations especially Linda's.

An American cousin of mine, who always told me I was unsympathetic about growing up Asian-American and their minority complexes, made me read this:
