Maybe you didn't get the memo that you get to make fun of gay people only if you are a member of the gay community.

And taking that a step further, by making fun of gay soldiers, is about as funny as someone dying in Iraq.

The wife and I disagree on him. She says it's OK because he's an equal-opportunity offender.

I say this just makes him a highly paid asshole.

I haven't watched him enough to form any real opinion. I do agree that if you make fun of people across the board, it's OK somehow. I mean, I do enjoy South Park. Mencia just comes across as irritating, though. And the whole "I'm a Hispanic guy making Mexican jokes" shtick just kinda falls flat to me anyway. I didn't much care for Chapelle's Show, either, though[1] -- so maybe it's the formula I don't like. I know I have a pretty high bar for stand-up comedy in general ... and catch-phrase comics annoy me to no end.

[1] I concede that some of the sketch bits, in particular the fake commercials, were quite funny.
