I see your point. However, to my mind, this is kind of patronizing. There are blacks who are not voting for Obama, and they have every right to vote as they want.
We haven't really won the racist war until the skin tone of a candidate doesn't matter, just his or her politics.
There are blacks who are not voting for Obama, and they constitute maybe 10 percent of black voters.
Obama's campaign has registered a goodly amount of voters, and they have every right to vote as the want. The campaign obviously has every right to register voters they believe (based on demographics) will vote favorably, but that's no guarantee that they'll ever vote again.
To keep those voters voting, to keep them politically active, to keep them from being apathetic, you have to work for them.
Obama is doing so, just as Evers did.
Medgar Evers worked for racial equality knowing people would be gunning for him.
Medgar Evers saw and felt racism most of the days of his life.
Medgar Evers worked to empower people so they would be able to help themselves.
Barack Obama is more than a presidential candidate, and this election is about more than him.
