June 18 is the nth anniversary of the fining of Susan B. Anthony for voting.

I have written two diary entries on this. The first is reasonably serious, and the second couldn't be more snark if I were writing it for April Fools' Day.

I like the second one better. But I'd like it even more if you mentioned that one used to have to be of the correct religion to vote. Remember when we had that tour at Williamsburg? I figured that of our whole family, from both sets of grandparents on down (not counting people who married in), only Grandfather and Uncle Jimmy could vote, because only they were white male Protestant landowners over the age of 20. For those of you who don't know our family, that's out of about 65 people, give or take half a dozen.
