Story Snarls

I haven’t finished a story in the past year. This spring was so frenetic I barely had time to do any leisure reading to maintain my sanity. (I’m disappointed if I don’t write regularly, but I practically collapse if I go too long without reading from my own shelves.) We talked a bit about this while you were visiting, but I'm also dealing with a question of how much of a an SF story I can get through with some handwaving. I think it sometimes depends on the importance of the scientific detail to the story. If there's a basic scientific mistake about some clue that helps solve a murder mystery, I'm going to be really annoyed. Everyone's threshold is different, though.
