Oh yes? Lately I've been fond of the idea of learning, though haven't really known where to start on my own. I've glanced at cook books and the cooking ware we have at the house, but haven't quite tried doing anything yet.

Cookbooks are excellent sources of recipes, but I find them less than satisfactory when it comes to the teaching process, much like any of the arts.

If you're that interested, I'd be more than happy to teach you some basic dishes.

So long as you wear clothes that you don't mind getting a little dirty, and... yes, your hair should be fine like that, and... hmm, I suppose the only other question is then what two or three things you'd like to start learning. I can make suggestions if you like.

I've quite a few sets of garments that fall into that category, and am pleased to hear my hair is fine the way it is. Though I wouldn't be opposed to doing my best to put it back further if needed.

As for what I'd enjoy learning...I'm not sure. I wouldn't want to choose something too difficult for me, so perhaps your suggestions would be best. Or dishes you know best. And then we can simply branch out from there?

If we were preparing food on behalf of others, I would certainly insist we both cover our heads. However, for this effort, as is will do.

At least to me, you appear to be a Westerner, and so I believe bread of a sort would be my first suggestion. After that, perhaps a lesson in preparing various meats in different ways - simple at first, with provisions for creative exploration. Lastly, perhaps a simple fruit tart dessert. It will make pies easier to explain, should you enjoy the lesson enough to desire continuing it.

I'm fairly certain I am indeed just that, if you are referring to where in the world I reside. As to the suggestions, those sound wonderful to me. Are these able to be taught in one sitting, or would it require multiple visits? Not that I would mind the latter, of course, I am simply curious. And would tomorrow be a suitable day to stop by?

Bread can be prepared in an oven, meats on a stovetop, and the fruit tarts... hmm, actually those will have to bookend the lesson, but all the same... Yes, we can do those three within a few hours of dedicated learning. That was my intent with suggesting them, after all. More complex things would need those same hours devoted solely to them.
