Two weeks ago my laptop died.

And as if it wasn't frustrating enough that I lost a ton of shit (ie. music, pictures, half-finished stories & songs, everything else etc), I now have to figure out what kind of laptop to purchase and from where I should get it.

SUGGESTIONS PLEASE!!!

this totally reminds me of the sex and the city episode in which carrie's computer crashes, and everyone keeps asking her if she backed up. have you ever had a mac? i agree with kt about how being both mac and pc compatible can be a good thing. however, i don't know if you are familiar with mac systems so it may be a bit overwhelming. what are you looking for from your laptop? mac has some great music-related programmes. it's a tough call. i used to be a mac-only girl and now, as you know, own a dell. okay, i'm rambling. email me.
