We got a twin bed from my parents for Andrew. We plan on putting it up today. I am due in less than 11 weeks, that's two months, two weeks, calendar time.

Should we dismantle and store the crib until closer to baby time, or leave both set up, and say this is your bed, that's baby sisters bed? I mean, he shouldn't need 11 weeks to process it should ( Read more... )

It seems like a lot of work to take the crib apart and then put it back 2 months later, so I woudl leave it set up if it were me.

When we switched Ben to his big boy bed we left the crib up (well, restored it to a crib because we had it as a toddler bed for Ben at that point) and he wasn't confused or upset at all--he was so excited by his new bed in his new boy room and that he wouldn't be in the baby room anymore that he had no problems.

If it clutters the room, and makes it less appealing to show, I would take it down. But try it out with the crib and the bed first. You never know how the room will look with both!
