If you want something, don't ask for nothing. If you want nothing, don't ask for something!!!!

Sometimes I feel like this time/place/present life/whatever is just so isolating. Is it so much to ask to want to REALLY connect with people and not just meet up once a month for an hour of "catch up"? Apparently, it is ( Read more... )

wow. i'm totally guilty. but i want you to know that saturday meant so much to me, to be able to spend time with you. and even before you wrote this, it made me realize that i want to spend a whole lot more time with you. in fact, i was telling jason that you feel like one of the "true friends" i've made since i've come out here.

and i definately don't have any good excuses for not seeing you more.

:)

I totally relate to you on this. I would MUCH rather have a few really close, tight friends than have a lot of people I just like hanging out with. I love building relationships and getting to know someone so well. To know what makes them happy and what makes them sad... all that stuff, its just much more interesting than superficially getting to know someone.

Just know that God has a plan for everyone coming in and out of your life. He can provide you that kind of friend if and when you need one. I know He always has for me.

thanks Tracy!! on a different note, how are you these days??

yeah, I agree...God's always provided for me also. I don't know why it's so hard for me to remember that, and why it's so hard for me to trust him with relationships. I trust him NO problem to provide my YWAM finances, but when it comes to relationships/friendships, thats a whole different story! I think I want to start memorizing more scripture or make a list of God's characteristics to turn to when the enemy starts feeding me all these lies...sometimes I can't necessarily change what I feel, but I can always just focus on and build up what I KNOW.

ok psychology time over :)

yeah, memorizing scripture is always good, no matter WHAT you're going through :) nothing is new under the sun, the bible has something to say about everything, atleast thats what I believe.

well i'm doin pretty good these days, but I did break up with Kyle a week ago last sunday, so its been tuff... But God is always good, so life is still good :) do you have AIM? my screen name is ChildofGod139 we can talk there sometime if you've got that :) no need to write it all out on your LJ!

You totally nailed it, Mere. I feel exactly the same, which is why the superficial "networking vs. close friendships" world of MBA is getting to me sometimes... But there are a few people even there, who can be great friends. Sorry to be away from you for so long, I miss you girl! We should totally meet in NYC one day, since now I live so close :). Are you coming home for winter holidays?

Awesome!!! I think a New Year in NYC would be grand! I am going away with Casey's family to the Bahamas for about a week right before X-mas, but I will be back shortly before new year. We could SO do this!
