I think...

I think that I have said this before, but just in case I didn't... My Live Journal site has basicly fallen to disuse. Why you ask? Well, for several reasons.

  • I have my own web site (www.tmib.net) and I live it better.
  • I dont have to read all the absolutely fucking lame (and over done) quizlettes/memes/e-quiz/ghayness and other similar stupid ( Read more... )

However, you will be the ONLY one on your site. Part of LJ is being part of a community. A single place to keep up on what's going on with your friends.

OK, quizzes are annoying, I'll admit, but the pagedown key works well for that. Eventually people will get a clue and hide quizzes behind an lj-cut, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. It's a minor inconvenience IMHO. Most quizzes are done by only a few people. If it's that annoying, don't show their entries in your friends list and the problem goes about 90% away.

Advertising? What advertising? I've used my LJ for years, and I don't think I've ever seen an ad on my LJ or my Friends list. If I have, it's so un-obtrusive that I never noticed it.

I had considered doing something similar myself, but decided that it wasn't worth it to maintain my own site when someone else provides a common place and doesn't force me to pay for the service.

    To each his own.

Thanks! Went there today - now I don't feel so *duh* I didn't know that. The pics were nice to see, too!
