I have recently discovered that "Mandatory Evacuations" aren't really that mandatory at all...... more like Highly Recommended evacuations. Mandatory evacuation for our county at 2pm today. It's 5:30pm now and we are still here. It's still clear and beautiful outside. We still have water and power. It isn't supposed to get really bad until late fri night or sat morning. By then it could turn and not be too bad - or it could hit us dead on in which case we will be in really bad ( Read more... )

So, I’m not usually one to get bothered or worried about things like storms or earthquakes… but they are now closing down all schools, several businesses, and even getting ready to evacuate several counties including ours.
