He might have stopped talking to you because the woman that he liked or what ever is the jealous type? Maybe she's seen you and him talking and didn't like it so asked him to stop? It is a pretty dumb thing, but it could happen. She probably thought you were attractive and felt insecure and that he liked you too much than just friends. Or he could have thought that she might get mad at him for talking to you?
