I herby submit to the general population, the suggestion that any food product advertised as a specific type of food, must actually contain 51% of the type of food advertised, or put the name in quotes.
For example, no more Kraft Mac & Cheese. Either print Mac & Dairy Product Solids, Whey, Cheese Cultures and Disodium Phosphate or just label it as ( Read more... )

It took me a while to realize East Timor was his fault. But I'm pretty sure that just about everyone who didn't witness the genocide in East Timor first hand, probably doesn't know it happened anyway.

I was referring to his mass production techniques, along with his "planned obselescence" intent. It really does showcase american consumerism beautifully.

just a quick thought:

With the cars running on grease, if every person in america (not counting 18 wheelers, bulldozers etc) were to switch to that kind of car the demand would not be met. Also, on keeping with the whole America is a dipshit thing, its cheap now, but if cars that ran on it were mass produced, just think of the jackass making money off of that.

As for the police thing, I think they get a bad name. Yeah there are the jack ass cops who beat guys, and abuse their power, but come on, the odds are just too high for one not to. Plus the police arent everyones personal body guard, as long as I'm getting held up walking down to the 7/11, I feel like they are doing their job.

Brazil (which often isn't considered to be a first world nation for whatever reason) made headlines briefly this summer when they announced that the nation had become energy independent. Most of their cars now run on some kind of ethanol or biodiesel combination. And, as a nation, they can meet that demand.

As for cops... they shot my uncle for petty theft. They beat another uncle and broke his neck after they found him wedged under a seat after a car accident with a broken neck. A year ago, a police officer saw me leaving a parking lot of an abandoned building, he stopped me and asked to search my car. When I said no, he gave me a ticket for speeding. When I got into a very minor car accident last summer, the police officer who came to the scene asked me, very persistently if I had "crossed the street over there and gone into the woods" which didn't make sense to me at the time because I hadn't. But thinking now about the way he was questioning me, the only thing that makes sense to me was that he was trying to imply I had some kind ( ... )

On my end....

Meat: The figure $20 is on the low end of estimates I've read. I've seen figures from $20/pound to $68/pound. Some numbers include damage done to the atmosphere, fuel subsidies, tax credits and who the hell knows what else. I figure a number on the low end, $20 is reasonable. But like you said, its all very complex, and I'm just quoting people who claim to have done the research.

Salary: I think money should be worth more, and property should be worth less. But that's all irrelevant and personal opinion. Though, I do think it is absolutely necessary to close the wage gap, and the distribution of wealth in this country is seriously out of whack ( ... )
