QUESTION FOR THE BRITISH PEOPLE ON MY FRIENDS LIST: Are Christmas lights a big thing in the UK? I mean, my neighborhood here has gone all crazy hardcore with them (compared to what I'm used to) and I was just curious if they're a big deal in your country. There are some people who will do loads of decoractions outside their house, but not very many people do it, so the ones that do are I guess regarded as a bit... eccentric? XD I can only think of 2 houses that do it in my area, and it does always look pretty OTT XD One is an electrician though, so we let him off, and the other lives in Glastonbury, so he's probably stoned.

People do it, and some people go massively over the top about it, but for the most part, I think they're starting to get seen as a bit tacky. Not like they weren't always tacky, but people are actually starting to think that and not do it.

Note that just as I say that, every house in both Oxford and Stoke-on-Trent, including my parents' house and this house, is going to decide to do it just to personally spite me. XD

We only have a few fairy lights in our front room. Not REALLY a big thing. Not like it is in America anyway :D
