If my Simpsons-inferred knowledge of American culture is correct, it's our Year Two. So eight/nine year olds.

....

now I've put that into age, if that happened over here, I doubt anybody would even pay enough attention to put it in the news any more =/

Yep, as Robbles said, it's about eight/nine year olds. I think the kids in that particular group ranged from eight to ten...but STILL! WTF, KIDS?!

The article’s fucked up if they’re inferring kids can’t make judgments like that. When I went to Catholic school, they damn well drilled it into us that we knew the difference between right and wrong by the time we were in the first grade, because we’d already made our first Confession, etc.

I wish they would post an article next to it exulting about kids who actually do good things for a change. I don’t need to be depressed that the next generation of hellions are potentially going to murder me in my sleep.

RIGHT?! I love how they're like "The children couldn't possibly have REALLY been plotting to murder their teacher..." it's like "Well...what the fuck ELSE could they have been doing?!" Surely it wasn't just another playground imagination game.

I would also like to hear (more) positive news about kids who are GOOD. I mean, it seems like everyone just focuses on the negative aspects of the youth of today. Which is actually pretty dangerous because then people who watch the news are going to think that the kids of today are worse than they really are...and they'll start treating them like that...and then eventually the kids will turn out as expected or "Assumed".

Yay communication theories! Self-fulfilling prophecy anyone?!
