The rusty iron and chains is interesting. Machinery of many years past.

I like the last photo of the dog in from of the fenced grave stones. One thing I have noticed about Russian grave stones is most are or were very nice. In the US I cannot remember seeing any stones with photos of people on the stone.

Thank you for sharing your photos.

it is a tradition to put photographs on grave stones
and a tradition to fence the graves is another difference

I had no idea this was tradition to place a photo on the grave stones.

I've noticed in mourning_souls in photos of Russian cemeteries that most have fenced areas. Thank you for this information.

In the US there is only one farm I know of which has a family cemetery. It is not fenced and has been left for the trees and grass to take over.

I know where there were several other farms with family graves but the farmers have gone against the law and removed the grave stones rather than plow around it. There is no respect even for the dead.

These photos remind me of the playground equipment put together by locals in a town near here. Unfortunately, when the new public liability insurance came in, most of them were dismantled :( It's great to see the your people's ingenuity at work here. Great photos, too!

That's very old. Imagine, the kids who played there are well and truly adults, now.

Good on the machine repair shop for making it.
