I think that if you look at the Harry Potter series as a whole, sure, you've got a relatively simply written series. But if you look at the individual books, and more importantly the jumps from book to book, you watch Rowling mature as an author, and can see the slight differences in language, content, and even target audience. I happen to find it fascinating; she initially found a target audience, and then (intentionally, unintentionally) continued to write for that exact audience as they grew up. By the final volume, the series ceased to be for children - it was a relatively mature end to a truly amazing series. I have an incredible amount of respect for series authors, because their knowledge of the world they create has to be so in depth and complete, I feel like critics should be posed with this question: could you do the same? Could you create an entire world, in every aspect and map out each miniscule detail? It was hard enough to do it as a class with Mr. Sherry, and that was 15 people working together in groups to come up
