Today in writing class we sent letters to the editor of the Asahi Shinbun. In previous classes there have been students whose letters actually get published. I have to admit, the novelty of reading KCNA news broadcasts has worn off.
I can't imagine growing up in a country where that is the only kind of news that people ever see and hear. I wonder what that does to a person's mind. -

I finished Coconuts by Yamamoto Fumio. I really enjoyed it, and it was a much faster read than Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which probably has a lot to do with the fact that Chamber of Secrets is over 500 pages in Japanese. But I managed to get through them both somehow. Now I have to decide what to read next.

OK so I had the theme song to a particular TV show playing in my head for the last two hours, but I couldn't figure out which tv show it was from. I knew that I had heard that I had heard it a lot growing up.
