Does he have any faults or flaws? (genuine ones, not ones that somehow make him seem more endearing?)
I'm only asking because right now he looks like a mixture of the best qualities of all the Slytherin boys we have already (smart, rich, keeps a journal, attached to cessy, into clothes, etc).
Can we see some of the balance to his character? :)
this wasn't a total biography of the guy. this was just stuff i wanted to make clear to people. in his info theres a lot more about him. i haven't really figured out what all of his faults are yet, but they are definitely there.
he's actually a lot nicer than most slytherin boys. he'll actually stop and help anyone who needs it. i think in many ways that's a fault, considering what house he's in.
See, that's what I was afraid of. That's not really a fault. It's the kind of fault people point to, but it's really just endearing, you know?
This is going to sound bad, and I hate to do this to you, but I might as well get it out before I end up doing a rant post on it again. ;)
We actually tend to have a problem with our Slytherins taking that route with their characters. Our shortage is on Slytherins who are actually the elitist, cruel types that we see in the books. Instead we tend to be overrun with 'unusual' Slytherin types who have a soft or noble side and who like to befriend other houses, etc.
Is there any way I might be able to persuade you against taking that direction with Ian before you get too far into him? It's your choice, but it would be a great help if we had some more Slytherins who behaved like Slytherins.
