Relative Distance(s)

EDIT:  Finally, a title! {27 August 2007}

Surely
maps are useful for plotting,
determining distances
between two (or more) points
across oceans
and beyond territorial lines.
But we have no need for maps,
you and i,
as no cartographer
can trace the meridians

Thank you. :)

I was thinking about my mom and all my friends overseas (which includes you, btw) when I was writing it. Any title suggestions? I suck at titles.

Oh, and your icon! :DDDD

I wish I could give you a title, but I am probably the least creative person, oh, ever. But I'll think about it and get back to you if I come up with anything worthy!

Don't even tell me that you watch Heroes! I don't think it's possible that I could love you any more.

My friend introduced me to Heroes, but unfortunately, I am yet to see it. We are actually going shopping for the season DVDs, and I am SOOOO excited!!!

--so yeah, you HAVE to love me more. :DDD

this exercise
of graphing the landscape of our hearts will go on:

until the day we find ourselves again in the vicinity
of each other

--once and for all.

This is so beautiful. ♥

Thank you. I guess this poem came out the way it did because I was thinking of all my loved ones who are far away. It is sad to be apart, but I am holding on to the promise that they will all come back to me someday.

I hope to see you someday, too. :)

I absolutely adore this poem. It employs metaphor and emotion without being cheesy or melodramatic (very hard to achieve, from my experience) and the structure jsut works. Bravo!

Thank you, dear!

I'm glad I achieved the feel that I wanted to send. I used actual map terms because it was a way of saying that this is my truth, without having to sound so cliche and corny.
