A linguistic quibble: "to libate" can only correctly be used for liquids, as the Latin word means "to pour as an offering".

I initially wrote that in response to the following comment:
After every ritual, my coven has a feast. Before we eat, we say a food blessing, and then libate a small portion of each dish or drink into a bowl. After feast is over, we scatter the contents of the libation bowl outside as an offering.
