Summary Jack is the Station Manager at cardiff Royal Infirmary's Hospital Radio. He helps a young man to get well and introduces him to the life at the radio.

Jack was at Torchwood Finance early on the Monday morning and Ianto had agreed to go with him. “You going to be alright cariad?”
“Yeah, I’m just feeling a little nervous about telling everyone about Hart. Some of the people here have known him nearly as long as I have. But I’m glad you’re here. Hold me Ianto please.”
Ianto went and enveloped Jack in his arms and kissed him tenderly. Just then the door opened and Tosh walked in.
“Oops sorry guys didn’t realise.....”
“Hi Tosh, come on in, no problem. You’ve seen us kiss before so it doesn’t bother either of us. Unless you want to join in?” Jack giggled.
Tosh blushed “don’t tempt me Jack, but Owen wouldn’t appreciate me kissing other men.” They all laughed.
“Ok, let’s get this over with, are you both ready?” Tosh and Ianto nodded.
They made their way through to the conference room. Jack opened the door to all the employees of Torchwood Finance, it wasn’t very often they were all together and if truth be known it unnerved him slightly. He reached for Ianto’s hand and held on tight.
“Ladies and gentlemen....” Jack tightened his grip on Ianto. “Ok....erm, firstly I want to explain everything about John Hart.” For the next hour he told them in detail what had happened. “So as you see, he won’t be coming back. I did think of selling out altogether.” A gasp was heard around the room. Ianto smiled encouragement at Jack and moved closer to him. “But after a lot of thought I decided the best way forward was to bring in Miss Toshiko Sato here. She will be working with me for the next few months and if all goes well and she decides to stay she will own a percentage of the company. Not in line with what Hart owned, but she will be someone to go to other than myself if you need clarification of anything.” He looked at Tosh and she smiled.
“As well as that piece of news....erm....well, some of you know Ianto Jones.” He pulled Ianto into wrap his arms around his waist. “Well Mr Jones has agreed to....” he looked into Ianto’s eyes, “he has agreed to....marry me.” A huge cheer went up from everyone in the room. Shouts of when were heard. Jack told them what they were going to do and promised the company would get a chance to celebrate with them when they got back from Australia.
Tosh hugged Jack and said that she was going to go introduce herself to the rest of the company. “Thank you again Jack, you are a true friend.”
“My pleasure Tosh and whilst we’re away it’s down to you to run Torchwood for me.”
The next few weeks went by in a blur. Ianto went back to school to the delights of his colleagues and the students. Although he was sad to hand in his notice, he was excited about working for John. He managed to keep his leaving a secret from the students right up until the last week. They had noticed his ring and as all teenagers do they questioned him about it. All he would say was it was from someone very special.
Jack went back to working full time at Torchwood Finance, with everyone saying they couldn’t be happier for him and that they all thought Ianto was cute. Tosh settled in really well and as Jack had promised, he gave her 20% of the company as a gift. She argued with Jack that it was too soon, she hadn’t completed her probation period yet. But Jack just argued back that she deserved it, she brought life and new clients to the firm.
Before anyone realised Ianto was breaking up for Christmas, his colleagues had found out about his upcoming Civil Partnership with Jack and had given him a going away gift that would double as a present for their ceremony. His students had also found out and had wished him all the luck in the world, he deserved it. Ianto was surprised at the students being so open about it and thanked them.
The day after he left school they flew out to Brisbane. He was nervous again, but this time is was a good feeling. He couldn’t wait to commit himself to Jack, they had written their own vows and he’d managed to keep his a secret from Jack, although he’d heard Jack practicing but hadn’t said anything to him. He knew that whatever they said would show the world how much they loved on another.
They landed at Brisbane airport to be met by the Doctor and Rose. “Jack, hi, great to see you finally. This must be Ianto?”
“Doctor, hi, yeah, Yan this is the Doctor and this beautiful woman here is Rose.” Jack kissed her.
“Hi Ianto, great to meet you finally. Whenever he rings all he can talk about is you. You have had a wonderful effect on him.”
Ianto blushed and Jack put a protective arm around his waist and kissed him. “Hi, it’s great to meet you both at last. You’ll have to tell me what Jack was like when he was single!” They all laughed.
Jack left Ianto chatting to his friends as he went to retrieve their luggage.
“Ok Jack everything is organised for tomorrow, the Registrar is booked for the ceremony and it’s going to take place at our home. Rose here wouldn’t have it any other way, so no arguments. She’s happy to do it all, she says it’s the least she can do.”
“Thanks guys, we’ve got Tosh and Gwen organising everything back home, so I dread to think what it’s going to be like in the end. You know what those two are like when they are trying to sort things out, they can never agree.”
“Jack, cariad, whatever they do is going to be ok. I’ll be yours forever no matter what.” He pulled Jack in for a kiss.
“Please....boys....not till you’ve got a room thanks.” They all laughed.
Making their way back to the Doctors house, Ianto kept a firm hold on Jack’s hand. He liked the Doc and Rose, but he was still nervous about the ceremony. He felt in his pocket, he’d managed to get a ring exactly the same as his and couldn’t wait to exchange their vows.
“Ok kids, this is it, not much but we call it home.” They pulled up outside a large detached bungalow.
Ianto had noticed that a large number of homes were wooden and built on stilts. “How come you don’t have many brick houses?”
“That’s because they are easier to cool in the summer and raised in case we have any flooding, which....thankfully hasn’t happened since we moved here. Anyway Ianto, Jack, our home is your home for the next three weeks.”
“Three....Jack, I thought we were only staying two?”
“I thought we could rent a place for a week and have the time to ourselves and not get in the Doc and Roses way. We can do whatever we like there too.” Jack winked at Ianto and smiled when he raised his eyebrows wickedly.
“Mmmm Captain Harkness, you do think of the most wicked, wonderful things.”
Doc had heard what Ianto called Jack, “Oh please....you’re not still calling him that are you? And please tell me he’s not still wearing that coat.”
“Oh yeah, he’s still wearing that coat, and....he looks extremely sexy in it too.”
“Please....boys....enough. I don’t really want to know thanks.” The Doctor laughed
“You have a beautiful home, thank you for allowing us to stay.” Ianto said.
“Hey Ianto, Jack, it’s our pleasure.”
The four friends sat talking for the next few hours about Hart and what he had done to Ianto. How Ianto had met Jack and how much they loved each other.
“Guys, we can see that, you’ve no need to tell us. I’ll let you into a secret Ianto....Jack here is the happiest I’ve ever seen him, and I’ve known him a very long time, and it’s all thanks to you. Anyone who can make my friend this happy has to be a good man.”
“Thank you Doctor, that means a lot to me. Ok, I’m sorry but this time difference has caught up with me. If you’ll excuse me I’m going to go to bed.”
“No problem Yan, I was just thinking the same.”
“That’s no problem boys, we’ll see you in the morning, the Registrar will be here around 1pm, I’ve said we’ll have the ceremony at 2pm if that’s alright with you two?”
“Perfect, the sooner I tell Ianto here how much I love him the better.”
They bid one another goodnight and Ianto took Jack by the hand and led them to their bedroom.
“Ianto’s cute.”
“Hey Rose, hands off he’s Jack’s. Besides you’ve got me, who could be better than that?”
“Doc....you know what I mean.” And Rose playfully slapped her lover. “He’s perfect for Jack, I was afraid he wouldn’t find anyone special....but....”
“Yeah, I know what you mean. I have to admit they make a gorgeous couple. I’m so glad that Hart was caught and nothing serious happened to Ianto. Jack would never have forgiven himself.”
“I know. Right, I don’t know about you, but there is a big celebration happening tomorrow and if we want it to run smoothly we need to go to bed too.”
“Oh Rose, I never thought you’d ask.” The Doctor reached for her hand and led her to their bedroom.
Ianto was the first to wake and initially couldn’t work out where he was. Then looking across at his sleeping Jack he smiled as he remembered, knowing that in a few hours their love and commitment would be there for everyone to see.
Jack stirred at his side and opened his eyes looking straight into the blue pools of his Ianto.
“mmmm morning lover.”
“Morning cariad.” He bent down and kissed Jack gently.
“Now that’s how to wake up. How are you feeling sweetheart?”
“Happy, scared, nervous, excited. Do you want me to carry on?”
“No, I want you to come here and kiss me again.”
Ianto leant down and kissed Jack, who responded by pulling Ianto on top of him and holding on tight. He too was nervous, and excited all rolled into one. Passions growing, kisses becoming hotter, wetter, Jack gently made love to Ianto.
Satiated they lay holding tightly to each other.
“I love you Jack Harkness and I hope when I say my vows to you this afternoon it will show you how much you mean to me.”
“Ianto Jones, I love you so very much, you are the best thing that has ever happened to me and I hope I can show you how much you meant to me this afternoon. Now, we’d better get cleaned up and go see what the Doctor and Rose are up to.”
The rest of the morning went by in a blur. By the time they realised, it was 1.30pm, the Registrar had arrived and waiting to begin. The Doctor was to be their best man and Ianto had removed his ring and given both to him. He felt lost without it, but knew it wouldn’t be for long. It had never been off his hand since the night of the dinner. Jack had not taken off his watch since then either. The Doctor made sure he’d got both rings in his pocket as well as a supply of tissues in another. Rose already had tears in her eyes and the ceremony hadn’t even begun yet.
The Registrar asked if they were ready, they all nodded and the Doctor led them out into the back garden. He wouldn’t let the two men out back when they’d arrived the night before, he didn’t want to spoil the surprise he had for them.
As they went through, Jack and Ianto gasped. There was a gazebo filling most of the back garden. It had been decorated in cream and burgundy silk flowers with a burgundy carpet running the full length. There were burgundy and cream candles of different sizes around the dais where the Registrar was stood waiting for them.
Jack and Ianto looked at the Doctor and Rose and smiled a thank you.
“We thought you’d like it. I know these two colours are Jack’s favourite, we were hoping you liked them too, Ianto.”
“Yan has a shirt in this burgundy colour and he looks hot in it.”
Ianto blushed, sending Jack’s blood supply south. “We’d better get started, otherwise I may just take Ianto here back to bed.”
“Oi, Jack, do you mind?” The Doctor laughed.
“Gentlemen, Rose, are we ready?”
“Yeah, we’re ready.” Replied Ianto, taking Jack by the hand he led him down the carpet to the waiting Registrar.
“Shall we begin? I hear you have each written your own vows.”
“Yeah.” Jack turned to face Ianto taking both his hands in his own. “We’re ready.”
“Ok, gentlemen, we’ll begin.”
Jack was the first to speak “Ianto, I never knew what living was until you came into my life. You have brought joy and love into my being, I have never loved anyone as much as I love you. I give you my love and promise to keep you safe everyday for the rest of my life. My love for you knows no bounds and it grows every day I wake up with you. I promise to be there for you when you feel down and when you are happy. I will share in your happiness and give you all my love everyday for the rest of my life. Ianto Jones you are my life and I love you with all my heart forever and always.”
Rose sniffed, the Doctor handed her a tissue, he knew she’d be a blubbering wreck by the time they’d finished.
Jack smiled at Ianto who was shaking. He knew what he wanted to say he just hoped it came out the way he’d silently been rehearsing.
The Registrar looked at Ianto “are you ready Ianto? Take your time.”
Ianto nodded, he was ready. He held tightly onto Jack’s hands and began. “Jack Harkness, when you found me I was lost. I didn’t want to live, but you showed me how to live again. I never thought there would be anyone for me until you walked into my life. I promise I will love you when you are happy and lift you when you are down. I will never leave your side no matter what, and your happiness is my happiness. You are everything to me. I will take care of you as we grow old together. I love you Jack always and forever. Cariad i chi bob amser ac am byth.” He leant over and kissed Jack.
The Registrar looked at the Doctor who handed over the rings. She passed one to Jack, and the other to Ianto. Jack looked at his lover questioningly, he hadn’t realised Ianto had bought him a ring. Ianto just smiled and placed it on Jack’s ring finger. Jack did the same.
“Jack, Ianto, you have exchanged your vows and rings as a token of your love and commitment to one another, you are now joined in your Civil Partnership. Congratulations gentlemen, I wish you all the luck in the world.”
Jack pulled Ianto close and kissed him passionately. Breaking for air he whispered I love you Ianto Harkness-Jones.”
Smiling Ianto said “and I love you Jack Harkness-Jones. Do you realise how wonderful that sounds, thank you.”
“No, thank you my love, you have made me one very happy man.”
The Doctor shook both their hands and hugged them, while Rose couldn’t resist kissing two of the most gorgeous men in the room, besides the Doctor that was. Rose had prepared a celebratory dinner for all of them and when it was over the Doctor presented them with keys to their house on the beach.
“Go on the pair of you. You don’t want us with you on your wedding night.”
Jack took the keys and the directions and took Ianto to the house.
“Wow Jack this is beautiful.”
“Not as gorgeous as you my love. Now stop talking, come here and make love to me. We don’t have to leave here for the next week and I don’t intend to leave the bed unless it’s really necessary.”
They slowly undressed each other and once naked Jack pulled Ianto onto the bed. Exploring each others’ bodies they made love slowly then, with passions rising, hearts beating faster their lovemaking became more frantic and sensual. After taking each other to Heaven and back several times they finally fell asleep in each others’ arms, contented knowing that they would love each other always and forever and for as long as the music played.
