http://pics.livejournal.com/the_silver_sun/pic/00082x3g/ Jack made his way back to the Hub. Owen and Gwen had taken the SUV so he’d walked. It gave him time to think about the man he’d just met. He couldn’t get the vision of those liquid blue eyes nor the gorgeous sound of his voice out of his head. He’d have to find out more about this Ianto Jones. Just thinking about him caused stirrings in his groin which he hadn’t felt for many years. He smiled to himself as he stepped on the perception filter lift. While Tosh monitored the rift he would do some monitoring, or rather digging, for himself. From the accent of Ianto Jones it shouldn’t be too difficult to find him if he’d been born in Wales.
“Hey kids, I’m back, anything I should know about?”
“No Jack, the readings have gone quiet again. It’s confusing, one minute it’s really strong the next….”
“Just keep doing what you do best, and if it comes back shout. I’ve just got some investigating of my own to do, so I’ll be in my office….ok?”
“Yeah Jack, no worries. Anything any of us can help you with?”
“No Tosh, it’s ok, but thanks for the offer. Owen did you get that autopsy finished on that Grask from yesterday?”
“No, not yet, that’s my next job. I’ll get Gwen to help, that way we’ll be free if anything shows up again.”
“Ok, that’s great. Listen I don’t want to be disturbed for a while, unless it’s a coffee you’re bringing me.”
They all shouted their ok’s and wondered what was important for Jack to be investigating without help from them.

Ianto looked at his watch, he needed a break. “Ok, stop right there. This is not working. Why is it when we move from our London studios to the theatre, things start to go wrong?”
“Sorry Mr Jones, I don’t feel safe up here, the scaffolding I’m stood on moves when I do.”
“Mark!...Mark! I thought you’d fixed it? You were working on that for the best part of the morning, what’s happened?”
“I’ll check it over and let you know.”
Ianto decided that they should break for tea. He’d have the stage crew check over the whole of the scenery, then he’d call back Romeo and Juliet and they could rehearse the balcony scene then. He had to have this perfect, he didn’t want to have the critics slate his production, especially in his home town.
“Listen up, you’ve got until six tonight to get this fixed then I want to rehearse the balcony scene again, we have a technical rehearsal tomorrow and a full dress rehearsal the day after. Don’t forget we open on the 11th March. That’s three days. Now I suggest you go and grab a bite to eat and I’ll see you back here at six. Stage crew, you can make sure everything is safe....Got that?”
Mark nodded an understanding and went off to personally check everything.
Ianto needed a coffee. He went back to the Green Room and found Dawn on the phone to the printers. He motioned to her to see if she wanted a coffee. Nodding in agreement, Ianto poured out two more of his vanilla coffees. Handing one to Dawn she smiled a thanks, whilst bartering with the printers. Ianto smiled at her conversation. Why couldn’t he talk to people like that? He was good at directing but when it came to talking to people about himself he became tongue tied.
She came off the phone “Finally, I got them to agree to the coloured version at the monochrome price.”
“How did you manage that? The difference in price is what? £100?”
“Oh I just told them there’d be complimentary opening night tickets if they could do them and they agreed.”
Ianto smiled “What would I do without you?” He went over to join her on the sofa and as a thank you he kissed her cheek. Dawn blushed, smiled and drank her coffee.
“What was that for Mr Jones?”
“Hey what did I tell you....it’s Ianto, and it was a thank you for all your hard work. I don’t know how I’d get some of the things done if you weren’t here. I’m sorry if I come across a bit sharp sometimes, I’m just worried in case things don’t go according to plan. I’d hate for my sister and my mam to say I told you so!”
“Listen....Ianto” she still felt awkward calling him that, but....”You are a successful Director, you’ve worked hard over the years and you have directed many great plays, you’ve only got to read the reviews. Stop worrying and just enjoy being back in Cardiff.”
Ianto took hold of Dawns hand and squeezed, nodding a thank you.
She got up to go “Is there anything else, because if I don’t get these to the printers they won’t have them done for the 11th.”
“No, there’s nothing thanks.”
She was just about to leave the room when Ianto remembered Captain Jack Harkness “Oh Dawn, sorry, there is one more thing. I had an impromptu visit from a Captain Jack Harkness, he said he was following a suspect into the theatre. I caught him watching the rehearsal. If we see anything out of the ordinary then call the police, they can deal with it. I’ve too much to do to be bothered speaking to him.”
“Yeah, sure, no problem.” And she left.
Ianto sat quietly thinking about the events of the day. The get in with the scenery, the strange feelings he got on the stage and elsewhere in the theatre and Captain Harnkess, the tall good looking American in the great coat. Who was he? What did he really want? Ianto shook his head stop it, he’s the police, he’s not worth thinking about? But he found he couldn’t get those blue/grey eyes nor that Hollywood smile out of his head. He looked at the phone number again. Pull yourself together Ianto Jones you’ve got work to do. He’s nobody worth bothering about. So why am I thinking about him so much? Ianto shook his head again, he didn’t want to think of that man, but he felt something stirring, something that had been dormant for a long time. This was stupid, he was straight, then why was he feeling these emotions.
