A/N I've discovered that AU's are addictive. This is forzazajbwho started me with these and I hope it goes someway to making her smile.

A/N2 Apologies for any of you who are getting this multiple times, it's cross posted

A/N3 Some of the incidents that are mentioned in the story have actually happened. They were incidents that were on sites I've worked on

Gwen didn’t know how long she’d stood staring after Jack.  He couldn’t be seeing anyone, she’d have known.  She got in her car and drove home, hoping that Rhys wasn’t there.  As she entered their flat she shouted him but got no answer.  She realised she’d been holding her breath and let it go slowly.  She had to think, she had to find out about Jack, she wasn’t giving up.  She’d shocked him, that was it.  She needed to talk to Tosh, she would help her.

The key sounded in the lock, she darted to the bedroom, she needed to calm down before she saw Rhys otherwise it would be 20 questions.

“Gwen, lover!  I’m home, you here?”

“I’ll be out in a minute Rhys, put the kettle on I won’t be long.”  She emerged from the bedroom making sure she had a smile on her face, hoping that it masked how she was really feeling.

“There you are lover, thought you’d have dinner on by now.  You’ve been home ages.”

“Is that all I’m good for Rhys Williams, cooking and screwing?”

“Hey, Gwen, what….what’s got into you?  I was joking, but explain to me please.  Explain what the hell’s going on.  I can’t talk to you for fear of having my head bitten off.  I can’t make love to you, it’s as if I repulse you.  You pull away from me when I go to touch you.  Look at what happened the other day at work.  I wanted to take you to lunch, you said you were busy.  It wasn’t until Jack said you could finish your work when you got back, that you agreed.  What is going on?”

She looked at the man she thought she loved, realising what she said next had to be convincing.  “I’m sorry Rhys.  I know that everyone at work knows we’re together, I just didn’t want to overstep the mark by kissing you, hugging you on site.  I didn’t know how Jack would react.”

“Look, by all accounts Jack is really laid back.  Owen says he has a wicked sense of humour and doesn’t mind as long as things are within reason.  And I don’t think me hugging you is overstepping the mark.”

“I’m sorry Rhys” she moved over to him and put her arms around his neck.  “I’ve been panicking in case I didn’t get things right at work.  I like this job and don’t want to do anything to jeopardise it.”  Then she thought about what she’d done earlier, how would Jack be at work tomorrow?  She stared into space.

“Gwen, hey lover, you ok?”

“What?....oh sorry Rhys, yeah I’m fine.”  She had to do something quick.  “Just thinking, why don’t we go do some practicing?”

“Mmm sounds like a good idea.  I love you Gwen Cooper.  Maybe we can set a date for the wedding too.  Let’s make it official.”

She looked at him, she didn’t want to talk about weddings.  She nodded and led him, albeit reluctantly, to their bedroom.  She was going to have Jack, she was certain, but until then she’d make do with Rhys.  She could always imagine it was Jack Harkness in her bed.  Couldn’t she?

Jack woke to find arms and legs entwined.  Looking across at the young man beside him, he smiled.  How did you get so lucky Harkness?  He couldn’t answer that, all he knew was that he loved this man in his bed.

Ianto stirred “mm hello Captain.”

“Hello Mr Jones.  How are you feeling?”

“Honestly?”  Jack nodded “fantastic, sore, but a good sore, in love with a gorgeous man….” He stopped.

“Yan, I love you, so don’t say you’re sorry.  We sorted that out earlier.”

“I know, but I thought I’d dreamt it.”

“Oh Ianto, come here.”  He pulled the young man close “I’m not going to say that’s not what we wanted.  I’ve never in my life wanted it more than when I’m with you.  Stop apologising every time you say it.  Just keep on saying it because it’s what we feel, it’s right.  And as I said no-one is going to change it.”

Ianto clung on tightly to his Jack.  “Now Mr Jones, how about we have a shower, then grab something to eat?”

“Mmm a shower sounds good, maybe I could show you how much I love you whilst we’re there.”

“Oh Yan, that sounds like a perfect way to go.”

The climbed out from underneath the quilt and Ianto led Jack to the bathroom.  For long sensual minutes they stroked, washed and brought each other to climax.  Each of them taking it in turn to take the lead.

Emerging, Jack handed Ianto a warm fluffy towel, and wrapping it around his waist he made his way back to the bedroom, Jack watching him as he went.  He had to keep pinching himself to make sure this wasn’t a dream.

They dressed, albeit reluctantly, and made their way to the kitchen, each realising they were hungry.  Ianto put the coffee on as Jack cooked bacon for their sandwiches.

“I didn’t realise I was so hungry.”

“We did miss dinner.  We went straight for desert.”

“And what a fantastic desert it was too Jack, thank you.”

“Stop saying thank you.  It’s what we both wanted.  And Ianto….”  Ianto stopped eating and looked at Jack “there’s going to be more of that.  I promise.”

“Yeah, I know.  And I promise I’ll be better next time.”

“Look, there you go again.  Come here.”

Ianto put down his food and went over to Jack standing by his side.  The Captain then took his hand and pulled him down onto his lap.  Ianto wrapped his arms around Jack’s shoulders whilst Jacks arms snaked around the young man’s waist.

“You, Ianto Jones, were fantastic….no don’t you dare say anything just listen.”  Ianto kissed Jack’s forehead and looked into his blue grey eyes, causing a reaction to begin again.  “I love you Ianto Jones, you have made me the happiest man alive.  You did that when you agreed to go for that drink with me.”  Jack sensed Ianto’s reaction and couldn’t help his own reaction from happening.  “I can see..” he looked down at the now prominent bulge in Ianto’s trousers and palmed his and over it causing the young man to moan.  “I can see that your feelings are strong, just like mine.  It doesn’t matter how many times or how long it takes, you will be fine.  Your confidence was shattered when she told you to go.  But from what’s happened tonight, that confidence is returning.

“Oh cariad, I love you and I realise you’ve loved others, I just didn’t want to get it wrong.”

“Sshh, you didn’t get it wrong, you are the most gorgeous man I’ve ever been with.  Your touch on me sends bolts of lightning through me.  I’ve never felt that with anyone….not even Hart.  It’s as though I’ve been existing for many years.  It wasn’t until I met you that I started to live.  And I’ve got you to thank for that.  Now, we appear to have woken up again.”  Jack placed one of Ianto’s hands over his arousal.  “Shall we go and sort these out?  Besides we need to get some sleep tonight, we’ve got work in the morning.”

“Mmm, I never thought you’d ask.  Yes please Jack, let’s go back to bed and you can teach me more Captain Harkness.”

“Will be our pleasure Mr Jones.”

Ianto got off Jack’s knee, took his hand and once more led them to the bedroom.  Coffee and sandwiches forgotten.  They satisfied their appetite in other ways until they both fell asleep, contented.

Gwen was the first to wake.  She had to think what day it was.  Realising it was Friday and she had to go to work brought both a smile and concern to her face.  Happy that she would be seeing Jack again, but worried about what he’d say about her kiss from the night before.

She was lying on her back, staring at the ceiling, when she felt Rhys stirring.  His arm instinctively went across her bare stomach.  She looked at him remembering what they’d done, realising that she couldn’t let him make love to her again this morning.  He moaned as he began to wake up and his hand instinctively went to her naked breast.

Gwen held her breath and as Rhys slowly woke up, she turned to look at him.  “Morning.”

“Mmm morning Gwen.  Thank you for last night.  I’ve really missed that.  How about we do a bit of practicing before we go to work?”

She knew he was going to say that and had formulated a reply.  “I’d love to Rhys, but we’ve got work today, but only until lunchtime.  How about we come home straight away and do some more practicing then.  And don’t forget we are meeting Tosh and Owen tonight for a gossip and a meal.”

“Now that sounds like a good idea.  Have I told you Miss Cooper that not only are you gorgeous, you’re intelligent too.”  He stroked her breast and kissed her.

“Yep several times.  Now if we don’t get ready we’re going to be late for work.”  She extracted herself from under Rhys’ hand and went into the bathroom.  Standing under the hot spray of the shower, she closed her eyes and thought of Jack.  What would he say about that kiss?  She daren’t dwell on it, Rhys would know that something was wrong.  She didn’t want 20 questions from him.  She’d made up her mind not to say anything to Jack unless he mentioned it.  Then she would apologise and tell him that it was a stupid spare of the moment gratitude kiss for coming to her rescue.

Ianto was the first to wake and found his arm was draped across Jack’s waist.  Looking at Jack he smiled, he thought, when he woke, that he’d dreamt the previous night of passionate lovemaking.  But looking at Jack lying next to him he knew it wasn’t a dream and yes he did love Jack Harkness.

Jack stirred and his eyes flickered open “Mmm morning gorgeous.  How long have you been awake?”

“Oh not long.  Long enough though to realise I didn’t dream any of what we did last night and that I’m the luckiest man alive to have found you Captain.” He bent and kissed Jack passionately.

“Mmm Yan, you can continue with that, but it won’t get any work done.”

“I know, hey it’s Friday we have half day today to let the contractors get home for the weekend.  How about this, we come home this afternoon, I take you to bed and learn some more, then instead of cooking we go out to Giovanni’s for a meal.  Then you can bring me back here and teach me some more.”

“Wow Mr Jones, that is the best offer I’ve had all day.  Oh and as for the teaching and learning, that will be both our pleasures.”  He pulled Ianto back down for another passionate kiss.

“Good, I’m pleased you like that idea.  Now we’d better get ready otherwise we’ll be late for work.”  Ianto extracted himself from Jack’s embrace and headed for the shower.

Jack and Ianto were first on site.  Ianto breathing a sigh of relief, he still wasn’t sure he wanted people to know about him and Jack.  He was still worried what they’d say.  Jack respected his wishes and told him that who and when anything was said was up to Ianto.  He was just pleased that he’d agreed to stay again that night.

They’d been in the office long enough for Ianto to put the coffee on, when Gwen and Rhys walked in.

“Morning Mr Harkness, Mr Jones.”

“Hey Rhys, what happened to Jack and Ianto?”

“Sorry Jack, still not used to calling managers by their first names.  How are you both?”

“We’re good aren’t we Ianto?”

“What….yeah….yes.  I’m good thanks.”

Ianto was finding it difficult to concentrate and if he’d looked at Jack he’d have blushed.  He was thinking about the previous night.

“Morning Jack, Ianto.”

“Gwen.”  Jack stared at her.  He’d promised himself he wouldn’t bring the incident up when anyone else was in the office, that wouldn’t have been professional.

Gwen was pleased that Jack hadn’t said anything.  She didn’t want Rhys to find out from someone else.  She wanted to be the one to tell him they were over.

“Right Gwen, I’d better go and get some work done, otherwise Jack here will be sacking me for not pulling my weight.”

“Ok sweetheart, I’ll see you at lunchtime.”  She smiled.

“Can’t wait, not after….”

“Don’t talk about our private life at work Rhys, please.”

“No….sorry….Right I’ll see you later.”  He turned and left the office.

Gwen went and sat behind her desk and made a start on the reports.”

“Gwen, coffee?”

“Mmm yes please Ianto.  I’ve had one this morning, but yours always taste better.  What do you do?”

“Oh that’s a secret isn’t it Ianto?”  Jack smiled at his lover who blushed.  Gwen, thank goodness, hadn’t seen that exchange.  Ianto handed her a mug of steaming coffee then went, armed with two more mugs of Vanilla flavoured coffee, into his and Jack’s office.

“Close the door sweetheart” Jack whispered “then come here and kiss me.”

Ianto was grinning as he did as he was told.  He’d just started kissing Jack when the phone rang.

Jack looked apologetically at him then answered “Harkness”

Ianto indicated that he was going out on site.  Jack nodded and watched as Ianto put his hard hat on.  Mmm Yan, can’t wait to see you bare chested with that hat on.  Jack had to bite his lip, he could feel his blood supply heading south, and he had to speak to whoever was on the phone.  He nodded to Ianto and smiled then mouthed I love you as the young man disappeared through the door.

“Sorry about that, what can I do for you?”  It was the roofing contractors making sure they’d got the colour of the tiles right before they ordered them.

As Ianto went through Gwen’s office she noticed the smile on his face and wondered what had put it there.  She realised she couldn’t continue to work without apologising to Jack.  She waited until she saw the extension light go off on her phone before she knocked on Jack’s door.

“Come in.”

Gwen entered and closed the door behind her.

“I’d be grateful Miss Cooper if you’d leave the door open.”

“Jack, look….”

“I don’t want to discuss it.  Not yet.”

“But I want to ap….”

“I don’t want half hearted apologies.  I want you to listen.”

Gwen nodded.

“We need to talk about what you did last night, but at this moment in time we both need to calm down.  I suggest you go home at the end of the day, have a good weekend and think about what you did.  I don’t want to lose you as a secretary, but you have to realise nothing can happen.  Like I said last night, I’m seeing someone wonderful.”

“But….”

“No Gwen.  Go home, think about your actions, then we’ll talk on Monday.  Ok?”

“Yeah….sorry Jack.”  She left without saying anymore.  She would not give up on him.  She would find out more from Tosh and Owen that night.
