Ianto was first to wake and reached over to the alarm clock just as it went off. Jack stirred at the side of him and turning back to face him Ianto saw Jack smiling.
“Morning beautiful.”
“Morning cariad. Are you ok?”
“Yeah, why?”
“Oh, after last night?”
“Last night was fantastic and now you’re here all the time, there’ll be plenty more like that.”
“I’m….well I’m still….”
“You have nothing to worry about, you are a fast learner.”
“No, it’s the teacher I’ve got.”
“Mmm, come here and kiss me.”
Ianto leant down and as he kissed Jack he smelt coffee, pulling away “Jack, Damien or Chris are already up….what….?”
“If you’re worried about what they’re going to say or think, don’t. They like you and are pleased that you’re here, where you should be….with me.”
“If you’re sure….I don’t want to intrude on your friendship.”
“Yan, sweetheart, they know how much I love you.” Ianto blushed and Jack reacted, “and they are thrilled that you agreed to move in. Now, we have a problem to sort out.” He reached for Ianto’s hand, “what say we have a shower at the same time?”
“Mmm sounds good to me.” Jack watched as Ianto got out of bed and padded naked to the bathroom. His blood supply continuing to head southwards.
“You coming Jack, or do I have to do this on my own?”
“Oh, I’m coming and so will you be in a few minutes time.” Jack joined his lover in the shower, and as the previous night they made sure nothing was left untouched or stroked.
They emerged, love induced, from their shower and after quickly dressing, made their way to the smell of hot coffee which was wafting up the stairs. Arms wrapped around one another, Jack leant in to kiss Ianto, just as they stepped through the kitchen door.
“Well good morning boys. Looks like you had a hot night last night, and from what we heard, a long one.”
Ianto stopped, looked at Chris and blushed a very deep red. Jack didn’t let him go, instead held on tighter to him and smiled at the comment from Chris and the look of horror on his lovers face.
“I….we….erm.”
“Ianto stop….I’m only teasing, you are only doing what we all do, especially when having hot sex with a hot man. And Jack, you weren’t very quiet either.”
Jack smiled, “just getting my own back on you two from the other week.” They all laughed and Jack felt Ianto relax slightly.
“You’ll get used to Chris, I have and I wouldn’t be without him.” Damien exclaimed, as he wrapped his arms around his gorgeous man.
“Did you have a nice meal at Tosh and Owen’s?”
“Oh yeah, now that was an eye opener.”
“Oh, why?”
“I swear Owen’s gone soft.”
“What do you mean Jack?”
“Oh he only proposed, you know down on one knee proposal to Tosh.”
“And….did she accept?”
“Yeah Chris she did. We left them celebrating with a bottle of champagne. Owen had got it all sorted out, none of us knew what he was up to. He’d even asked to leave work early to get the ring. I swear he’s gone soft.”
“No cariad, he’s just in love, like I am with you.” Ianto blushed again as he leant in to kiss Jack.
“Ok, so that’s those two sorted out, what about you two?”
“Chris! Don’t you think you are pushing it?”
“Damien, sweetheart, you never get to find out anything unless you ask. So….come on Captain, is your hottie going to make an honest man out of you?”
“Erm….what….well” Ianto was visibly flustered.
“Chris, Yan has only just moved in, we’re still taking things one day at a time. Come on, remember how long you two were together before your Civil Partnership?”
“Yeah, but that wasn’t our fault, the government wouldn’t allow us to be legally joined, so that’s why we had to wait. But Damien was worth waiting for.” Chris pulled his lover close and kissed him. “I wouldn’t be without him now.”
“I know, I’ve heard!” It was Damien who blushed this time at Jack’s comments.
“Anyway, I told Tosh and Owen to have the day off and not get out of bed.”
“That sounds like a really good idea, why didn’t you two take your own advice?”
“As much as we’d like to” Jack pulled Ianto closer, “I do have a building site to run. And if I don’t make sure everything’s running smoothly, the client’s may demand to know why.” They all laughed.
“Oh I’m sure one day won’t make much difference to the contract or the clients.”
“No Chris, we can make up for it when we get home, can’t we sweetheart?” Ianto smiled wickedly and nodded.
“Oh I’m sure you could, after what we heard last night.”
“Listen, we’ve got to go, I’ve got a few things to sort out, one of them not pleasant.”
“Anything we can help you with?”
“Not really, but thanks Chris, I have to speak to someone and it’s not going to be a good experience.”
“Why what’s happened?”
“I’m sorry, can’t really say much just yet. I need to talk some sense into someone. As soon as I can I’ll let you know, but I do promise you this, it won’t affect the work on site.”
“Ok, you’re the boss. Hey Ianto!”
“Yeah Chris?”
“Great to have you here. You’ve made Jack happy and that’s the best thing that’s happened to him for a long time.”
“I love him Chris and no-one” he looked at Jack who knew who he meant “no-one is going to do anything to part us.”
“Right sweetheart, we’re going to have to go. Damien, Chris, we’ll see you tonight.
“Ok Jack, see you both later.” Chris pulled his lover close and kissed him passionately as Jack left with a protective arm around his own lover.
They arrived on site and Jack was surprised again when Ianto grabbed his hand and entwined his fingers in his own. “Yan?” Jack brought their hands up in a questioning look.
“I want people to know Jack. As I said the other day, I’ve done enough hiding, it’s time I was truthful with everyone.”
“You are gorgeous Yan, I’m so glad I found you.”
“Do you want me to stay when you talk to Rhys?”
“No sweetheart, I’d rather do it alone, then if he wants to throw a punch at me there’s no one else to get in the way.”
“You think he’d do that? Don’t you think he’d know it would jeopardise his job?”
“That’s the thing Yan, it’s not, as it’s not his fault. If there is going to be anyone leaving it’ll be Gwen, but I’m hoping after I’ve spoken to Rhys he’ll be able to sort things out.”
“Oh Jack, I’m sorry”
“What for?”
“Not admitting to having feelings for you sooner. Perhaps if she’d known she wouldn’t have tried anything.”
“Hey it’s not your fault. Don’t ever think like that. And, if you’re being honest will you do something for me?”
“Sure.”
“Kiss me, here, now, in the open.” Ianto smiled, looked around them and kissed Jack.
“Come on Jack, let’s go do some work.”
Jack dropped hands and wound his arm around Ianto’s waist as they made their way to the office.
As they walked through the door Gwen and Rhys stopped talking. “Morning Jack, Ianto, how are you today?”
“Fantastic thanks Rhys, you?”
“Could be better, couldn’t we Gwen?”
Jack noticed an atmosphere. “erm Gwen, I need some drawings collecting from Torchwood House, take my car.”
“But what about the phones?”
“Don’t worry, we can take care of them for an hour or so.”
“Ok.”
“Dawn will have them ready for you so don’t worry. Ianto just make sure Dawn knows which ones they are will you. Then Gwen can have a coffee and a chat.”
“No problem Jack. I’ll phone through there.” he pointed into their office.
“Ok, here you go Gwen.” Jack threw his keys to her. “Well, off you go then. I’m giving you a chance for a gossip with another woman. I don’t want you back for, oh at least an hour.”
“If you’re sure, I can always get a courier….”
“No Gwen, you deserve a break. Off you go then.”
She looked at Rhys, then at Jack, “ok, see you later.” And she left.
“Right Jack, I’ll get back to work then.”
“Erm….Rhys….can I erm….have you got a few minutes?”
“Sure Jack, you ok?”
“Not really, but let’s go into my office and I’ll explain. Ianto you finished chatting up my secretary?”
“Yeah Jack, but she knows I only have eyes for you.” He quickly kissed Jack on the cheek and left him with Rhys.
Rhys smiled at the sight of two good looking men being so affectionate in public. “If you don’t mind me saying, you two are great together. You seem so happy.”
“Thank you Rhys, we are. I don’t know what I’d do without him. Not now.” Jack suddenly became serious again.
“What’s wrong Jack? Have I done something wrong?”
“Oh no Rhys, I can’t fault any of your work. In fact I’m only hearing good things about you.”
“So what’s the problem, you look like you’ve got the world on your shoulders, you should be happy, you’ve got Ianto.” He stopped “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that I’ve already said you are gorgeous together and what you do in private….”
“Rhys, stop. I….we don’t mind who knows, we are happy. What I’ve got to say is not going to be pleasant, but I really need your help.”
“Erm, ok, what can I help you with?”
Jack went on to tell him everything that had happened, even the kiss and the phone call. By the time he’d finished Rhys was very pale and shocked. “I’m so sorry Rhys, I was really hoping it would sort itself out, but I hear that she’s been off with you. I hope you don’t mind, but I spoke to Tosh last night, she told me what happened at college.”
“I’m sorry Jack, I’ve noticed that there’s been something bothering her, but I put it down to the stress of beginning a new job. I’ll have a word with her, get her to stop. I’ve had enough of her moods, I’ll tell her if she doesn’t stop the nonsense then I’m leaving her.”
“Will it come to that?”
“I hope not Jack, I love her with all my heart and I truly want to marry her. But if it’s the only way I can get her to see sense then so be it.”
“I want you to know Rhys I’ve never done anything to encourage her. Don’t get me wrong, I can see a pretty woman when there’s one stood in front of me, and Gwen is pretty, it’s just….”
“You’d rather be with a good looking man like Ianto?”
“Yeah, I….”
“You love him don’t you Jack?....Sorry I’m sticking my nose in again.”
“No, that’s alright, yeah Rhys I do. And he loves me. So you see I would never do anything to….”
“It’s fine Jack, I’m sorry you’ve had to experience this. I promise I will talk to her tonight, I’ll sort it out.”
“Thanks Rhys, she doesn’t know how lucky she is.” He held out his hand for Rhys to shake. Just as they were shaking hands Ianto came back into the office. “Yan come here, I’ve told Rhys everything and he’s going to speak to Gwen tonight.”
“Oh, right. I’m sorry Rhys” Ianto went and stood close to Jack.
“No Ianto, I’m sorry. I’ll sort it.” With that he was gone.
“Wow, he looked devastated cariad.”
“Yeah, I felt really bad, but we need this sorting, she has to move on.”
“Yeah, I know.”
“How’s things on site?”
“Great, they’ve nearly finished the garage, they’ve got a couple of courses to put up then it’ll be ready for the roof timbers, but I’ve told them to leave that for now and concentrate on getting the exterior of the house finished. It made sense having the two gangs working on the garage instead of sending one away, it’s got it finished quicker. They can now all concentrate on the house.”
“Yeah, and I remember we have unfinished business there too, don’t we?”
“Mmm promises, promises Captain.”
“Oh, most definitely Mr Jones.” He pulled Ianto close and kissed him passionately just as Gwen came back in the office.
“Oh for goodness sake can’t you leave that at home where it belongs.”
“Gwen Cooper. I’ve….no we’ve had enough of your comments, your actions, I suggest you go home and don’t come back until Monday. By which time you’ll have had time to think. Think about what you have with Rhys, what you have in this job and whether you want to carry on working here. Because I can’t afford to have a secretary who is not concentrating 100 per cent on her job. Not with a contract like this.”
“But Jack, Ianto I’m sorry.”
“We’ve heard that several times now and you still can’t let things drop.”
“Gwen, Jack and I love each other and no one especially you is going to change that. Do as Jack says and go home.”
Jack looked at his lover with admiration, he was so proud of him admitting his love in front of Gwen. He noticed Gwen’s face, the look of shock that they knew what she was doing or trying to do.
“Gwen, I spoke to Tosh last night, she told me what happened at college. I don’t or will ever feel anything for you in that way. I’m gay and you can’t change that. Go home, talk to Rhys….”
“What! You’ve told Rhys?”
“Yeah Gwen, I have, I needed to do something. You weren’t listening to either of us, so I had to enlist someone’s help. I don’t want to see you until Monday.”
She looked at Jack then at Ianto and ran out of the office crying.
“Have we done the right thing cariad?”
“Yes sweetheart I believe we have. Now let’s get back to building Damien and Chris’ home.

“Gwen, Jack and I love each other and no one especially you is going to change that. Do as Jack says and go home.”
Jack looked at his lover with admiration, he was so proud of him admitting his love in front of Gwen. He noticed Gwen’s face, the look of shock that they knew what she was doing or trying to do.
“Gwen, I spoke to Tosh last night, she told me what happened at college. I don’t or will ever feel anything for you in that way. I’m gay and you can’t change that. Go home, talk to Rhys….”
“What! You’ve told Rhys?”
“Yeah Gwen, I have, I needed to do something. You weren’t listening to either of us, so I had to enlist someone’s help. I don’t want to see you until Monday.”
She looked at Jack then at Ianto and ran out of the office crying.
“Have we done the right thing cariad?”
“Yes sweetheart I believe we have. Now let’s get back to building Damien and Chris’ home.
