It's harder for DC since they don't own the rights to Superman, Batman, or Green Lantern.
Marvel never sold Iron Man, Cap, and Thor, and they got lucky and arranged to get Hulk back.
As far as I know, he's the only Marvel/DC cross actor. Am I wrong?
Yes. Cyclops was killed off 2 minutes into X3 because James Marsden was appearing in Superman and Brett Ratner felt this was a betrayal - but Marsden was in both X1/2/3 and Superman 5.
(Chris Evans was in Fantastic Four as well as Captain America - FF was from a non-Marvel studio and was so bad that it FELT like a DC movie, does that count?)

Well, dagnabbit. We all lose, then. Maybe they can make some deals based off everyone seeing the success of the Avengers and the money involved?
We can only hope, but the prospects seem dim.

Perhaps I should say Ryan is the only Marvel/DC cross actor with characters still alive. :) Marsden couldn't show up in an Avengers movie barring Dark Phoenix reviving him (after being revived herself) or some other comic book shenanigans.
[Spoiler (click to open)]Not to say that Coulson might not come back, either! Hope hope hope. He was my fav running character!

Ryan Reynolds would also need a resurrection to appear in an Avengers movie.
More likely, in both cases they would simply ignore all previous movies and make a new one from scratch - like how Batman Begins completely ignored all the previous Batmans, and how Casino Royale was out of continuity with other Bond movies, etc.

[Spoiler (click to open)]Nah, Deadpool was clearly alive in one of the easter egg scenes at the end of the Wolvie movie. He may end up being a recurring character and could easily star in his own movie.
At least, that's the hope. We'll see what happens, right?

Yeah, you're probably right. But perhaps they will take a cue from Marvel and make sure all the prequel movies are worth watching...
Though it raises the question - do we need another Batman/Superman prequel movie? We know the characters already. Would it be overkill to introduce another storyline for the sole purpose of bringing them into a JLA movie? Perhaps, perhaps not.
ROFL! Jake and I are conniving a way to go see this movie post haste. We're both very excited about it. I never got into comic books as a girl, my nerd transition was as a young adult, and comics were just not my thing, but I can appreciate the translation into cinema form and I've seen most of the movies leading up to this. I missed hulk, but I've seen the others and loved them. My Nathan is a huge fan of Iron Man.
I'm not reading your spoiler! But I was glad for the note about staying for the easter eggs. My husband will definitely not want to miss those!
We will.. that's the plan at the end of this week when he's worked hard on his project... we'll reward him with getting to see an awesome nerd movie we will both love!

Oh man, no. Both are fantastic. One progresses the storyline and one is just really really funny.
Enjoy the movie as soon as you can. :D
