does anyone know of any appartment complexes in Dallas that either go easy on people with bad credit or don't do credit checks at all

Look for small, privately-owned units in east Dallas/lower Greenville/Lakewood type areas. Craig's List is your best bet. The independent landlords tend to be more forgiving of things like crappy credit and/or criminal records. I'd bring it up as soon as you talk to a potential landlord and find out if they'll work with you or not. Good luck.
