-My memory is gone, I swear! I knew I wanted to go see the new ST movie if I could scrape up the dough, but hadn't seen the first one. Fortunately, they were showing the 2009 movie on TV, so had the opportunity to see it. Sat down, the movie started, and lo and behold, I HAD seen it! But still don't remember seeing it, if you know what I mean. ( Read more... )

I'm going to see the new ST tomorrow, so I'm glad to hear that you really liked it. I loved the first one which, as an old Trekker, was a happy surprise for me.

Hope you can get to the dentist soon because it really is best to get that looked at as soon as possible.

Yay, you're finishing your story! Maybe it's all that peace and quiet--the Muse likes that. :)

So, what did you think of the new ST movie?

Yeah, I know it's best to get the tooth taken care of asap, but my debt is so large and working fast-food isn't conducive to debt repayment. I'm barely making the payments I already have. But I'm pretty close to paying off that other credit card, thanks to my tax refund. :-) (I actually have 3 teeth that need taken care of, but I'll have to do it one at a time.)

The tooth pain has escalated somewhat (ex: last night didn't get to go to bed until 4 this morning as whenever I reclined the pain got worse. Good thing today is my day off), so I haven't felt up to finishing my story. Hopefully soon.

I saw Trek twice! I usually don't go to movies more than once nowadays, but this one was worth the splurge for me. I loved it. I really enjoyed how they 'rebooted' The Wrath of Khan, just loved the sort of flip flop of that pivotal scene when Kirk is in the radiation tube and Spock is on the outside. Wow. They even used parts of the original dialogue, and it was really touching. Brought a tear to my eye. I think the new cast is great. I never thought they'd come up with a new set of actors that could do justice to those characters, but this crew is wonderful. I was so glad this second movie was as good as the first. And Benedict Cumberbatch was so cool. So, I guess you can tell I liked it. I also feel like both slash and gen fans would find something to cheer about with this one.

I wish you weren't having that tooth pain. Actually, I wish you had a better paying job! Is there something like a dental college/school that offers services at a lower cost? Anyway, just take care of yourself.
