Okay, obviously I'm so excited that I can actually POST again, that I'm posting tons of drivel. Sorry. Sort of.
Plans for the year, continued ...
Still trying to go through all the the stuff mom's collected/accumulated over the year. When the sibs were here in July, they went through mom's desk and closet and pitched tons of stuff. I've been working on the storage room forever. Taken out tons of bags of stuff, yet seem to make no headway. Right now I can't get into the chest freezer as I have totes and boxes stacked on it. Sorted through all the Christmas stuff I could find. Got rid of two artificial trees that were shoved toward the back under a bunch of stuff. So I think we are down to my 3' "barn" tree which we used this year, and mom's pencil tree my sister got her last year. Couldn't find it in time this Christmas. But although I threw out or Goodwilled quite a bit of Christmas stuff, what's left still fills 1-1/3 shelf in there that my dad built. There are 3 shelves, each about 4 feet long and about 2-1/2 deep. You could fit 2 18 gallon Rubbermaid totes stacked on each one. I told mom that this next Christmas she needs to downsize more.
I bought a tiny granite topped mobile kitchen island which has really made working in the kitchen a lot easier. With only one butcher block top cabinet as counter space it's always been challenging. Now with the island and the big wire shelf unit I got a couple years ago, I'm finally getting organized. Since I have a lot of my own cooking stuff from when I lived on my own, I want to convince mom to get rid of most of hers. I want to finish the kitchen wall that my dad had extended when he was alive. It needs patched where there is a gap where the new section joins the original. And then a paint job should do it. Want to strip the paint off of the steel cabinetry and repaint.
Want to rip up the carpet in both the living room and mom's room. Want to replace with carpet tile. The carpets may make it up this year, but the replacement is not likely to happen so soon!
Once I get the rest of my stuff home from formerjob, I need to have a big yard/tack sale and get rid of all my extraneous belongings. See if swapping those hard drives from my desktops works. Then get rid of all computer stuff that does not work
So, since I've been out of the loop, has Nick done anything lately besides haunt my dreams as Krycek?
Ah, the dryer has just turned off on load one of the laundry, so I guess I'd better get it out and put the second load in to dry. Will read a bit until that one is done, then to bed. Tomorrow is my day off. I am staying home and relaxing until late afternoon when I hope I will remember to get to the food pantry.
