Sounds like a threat to me. "Love me or die?" I'd rather die than be a slave or a mindless worshiper.

I don't think its a threat at all.
You do this and one outcome will happen. You do that and another outcome happens.

Everyone is freely able to make that choice. We aren't mindless automatons.
