Tagging
Hi all!
Given that there have been a ton of posts for this IBARW (which is awesome!!!!) and that the internet is in general somewhat problematic with regards to identification, this post is for people who would like to change the tags their own post is under in our del.icio.us. This is mainly for identifying tags such as nationality, ethnicity, and race, though if you think we got the topic wrong, please let us know.
In general, we've been trying to go by post content and user info, though we make mistakes.
We apologize for anything we've tagged wrong and are sorry that right now, the burden is lying on you all to correct it.
I'll also be going through the IBARW2 posts to try and clean things up post-IBARW, but this may take a while.
So, corrections and suggestions welcome here!
Ex. I'm not sure if multiracial/mixed race people would like a by.multiracial.people tag or by.mixed.raced.people (or both), or if the american.indian tag should be that or native.american, or if some Irish people would prefer to have their posts under ireland and
united.kingdom, or just ireland.
Feel free to also ask for tags to be removed from your post.
Also, if you think adding a tag to your post may be controversial to others who self-identify under that tag, please let us know why you'd like your post tagged as such. Ex. someone of white German and French ancestry wanting to be tagged by.poc would be controversial to most POC, whereas a nonwhite person asking to be tagged as nonwhite would probably not be controversial to other nonwhite people, or a biracial Chinese Australian asking to be tagged as chinese and australian would probably not be controversial to other Chinese people or Australians.
