Yesterday I didn't touch the conference paper because I wanted to ponder it first; today I have already begun the process of editing...and by editing I mean gutting the entire paper. Essentially I have a hard copy in front of me and I am just marking the sections I want to keep before chucking the bulk of the paper in the dustbin

One of the things I liked about studying ancient Greek and Roman history was that once you got to grips with the languages, all the primary textual sources could fit on one small bookshelf.
