I can't believe I leave in less than 6 days. For five weeks. It just seems so unreal that I'm not even going to be in my home country for over a month. It's very unnerving but I can't wait to leave. I can't wait to see more than what is here in my backyard every day and to see people who have different cultural and political views than Americans. ( Read more... )

I hope you have an awesome time in the Motherland! Yesterday in one of my classes we had another professor come in and talk to us, and one of the things he said was that when he first lived abroad, he realized just how American he was. So I'm sure it will be a shock at first to live in a completely different country (especially Russia, lol), but you will also have an amazing experience!

Oh, Russia is going to be insane. I know I'll be in total culture shock when I get there. But it'll just have to be something I'll get used to and after awhile it'll probably be perfectly normal. Well, may not all the way. :P I jsut can't wait to leave. Just onoe more day being at home...wow, that is one scary thought.

Aw, I'd love to be able to do something! But unfortunately I still have one more final and then I really should be with my family unless they just don't want to see me. :P But as soon as I get back, we definitely should. Geez, we live in the same city and we barely hang out. Shame on us. Well, take care of yourself this summer and have a great time!

This week has gone by so slowly. Really, just the last 3 days. I've got to pack up all my dorm room stuff in boxes and pick what I'm taking to the apartment and what goes into storage (my roommate's family is going to keep the boxes until august). It's crazy! I have so much stuff and I'm not sure how it got that way! I'm so jealous of you, but there's a group here that's talking about a back[packing trip across the Mediterrainian region for about a month next summer. Honest-to-God backpacking, with large packs, hostles, wine and cheese. And greek coffee. Yum. Anyway, have fun in the motherland. OMG! Backpacking in the Mediterranean sounds amazing. I might have to go with you. :P How's staying in Charleston going for you? I'm going to have to visit you this summer when I return.
